Ceylon Tea Trails is the world’s first tea bungalow resort, perched at an altitude of 1250 metres in Sri Lanka’s panoramic Ceylon tea region, bordering the UNESCO World Heritage Central Highlands. We are proud to be the first Relais & Chateaux Resorts in Sri Lanka and to share our passion for tea production with our guests.

Our award-winning boutique resort includes five restored tea plantation bungalows from colonial times. It is located south of Hatton in the Dickoya and Bogawantalawa region, close to Adams Peak, Sri Lanka's highest mountain. Hatton is also part of the probably most famous panorama train line between Kandy and Nuwara Eliya and therefore the perfect stop during a round trip. In addition to the classic arrival by train or car, our guests can also travel by helicopter or seaplane and thereby enjoy the breathtaking nature of Sri Lanka from above.

Each of the five bungalows is unique, the rooms, named after English estate managers who used to live there, convince by their extraordinary location and their different design. A total of 27 rooms and suites with historical furniture, friendly butler service and gourmet cuisine create an exclusive ambience. Follow the Tea Trail from one bungalow to the next, combine as you wish or simply stay overnight in your favourite bungalow. Traditionally, you will be woken up every day in the morning with a "bed tea" – probably the most perfect start in the morning.

During your stay, enjoy the ranquillity of this magical place, the perfect place for trekking and cycling in front of the breathtaking scenery of mountains, lakes, winding roads and waterfalls. Relax and enjoy the view of the surrounding tea plantations or indulge yourself with a spa treatment. Learn more about the secrets of tea production or enjoy our excellent culinary highlights. Ceylon Tea Trails will inspire you.
