Where the black volcanic sand meets the midnight blue waters of the Aegean Sea, you'll find Istoria Hotel - a 12-suite retreat on Perivolos Beach. The hotel is located right on the seafront of the famous Perivolos Beach, a 3 km long black volcanic sand beach on the pristine eastern side of Santorini. Istoria is inspired by storytelling, deriving its name from the Greek word that means story. A new spin on the Greek beachside hotel, Istoria’s design is an eclectic impression of Mediterranean influences. The 12 suites - each with a name in a different language that translates to the word "story" - are impressively vaulted and feature a private terrace and, in most cases, a private outdoor Jacuzzi or pool. Culinary wise, the in-house Mr E Restaurant has reinterpreted Greek gastronomy. Under the direction of acclaimed chef Alexandros Tsiotinis, Mr. E serves modern Greek and Mediterranean cuisine with fresh, seasonal ingredients and seafood from the Aegean. The in-house pool is decorated in stunning green-grey tiles and is an absolute design highlight. The stretch of Perivolos beach right in front of Istoria is reserved only for the hotel’s guests, who can walk from their suite to the beach. Umbrellas and sunbeds are available for relaxing under the sun, while drinks and snacks are served until sundown. Round off a day at the hotel's Elios Spa or in the nearby surroundings - there are numerous restaurants, bars and clubs on Perivolos Beach.
